Crown Clash
A war strategy game of careful conquest and aggressive maneuvers.

What is crown clash?
Crown Clash is a strategy war game for at least two players. With the land in turmoil, after the king met an untimely death, all the local lords mobilize their armies and fight for the crown.
After picking the winning conditions (crowning titles), players go head-to-head in speedy rounds. Building an army, developing your regions, and going to war will make a player’s turn.
Armies are composed of three different unit types, with rising costs in funds and manpower. Players must make sure the local region can support the development of their army, meaning rapid expansion will come with a shortcoming of reinforcement.
Development is fast and turns are aggressive, preventing any game from dragging out and becoming soul-crushing grinds.
With many maps and winning conditions to mix and match, no one Crown Clash game will be the same. Each map will have its own dangers, such as established or roaming brigands, other neutral powers, and more.
With strategic depth, exciting battles, and opportunities for aggressive and defensive stances, Crown Clash provides an experience all war gamers will enjoy.

crown clash development journey
I started to develop Crown Clash earlier this year after delving back into Total War: Medieval 2. I realised I had been playing war strategy games all my life, and felt pretty inspired to try my hand at making my own.
So I drafted up a set of rules and began immediate play testing with my friends. The easiest way to do this was through Minecraft, considering how accessible it is. Besides, it was fun building the maps.
Currently, Crown Clash is in the awkward stage of play-testing, making adjustments, and play-testing again. Some play-tests are more experimental than others and new ideas are fielded to see what works and what doesn’t.
You can help speed this process by volunteering to play-test the game if you want to give it a go!
When and where will crown clash be available?
Crown Clash is a pretty big game, although I’m hoping to fit in some play tests before the end of the year. Optimistically, I’ll have a balanced game ready by the start of 2025.
However, the future of Crown Clash is currently uncertain.
I really believe in Crown Clash, and believe I can get it published one way or another. If I am to submit Crown Clash to a board game publisher, then it could be a couple of years before it even gets looked at as a submission.
If I am to independently publish the game, with the help of a Kickstarter or other such method, then the future really is uncertain.
I’ll update this page with any developments, but currently, I am concerned with making a balanced and enjoyable game.
want crown clash sooner?
Pester me with an email to keep me on my toes if you’re especially keen to play Crown Clash. The game is a pretty big one and organizing play-tests can be rather time-consuming.
Rest assured, I am enjoying the development of Crown Clash, and am trying to get it out as soon as I can.
